Lita Rossana Ford popularly known as Lita Ford is a British-born American musician, songwriter and guitarist who served as the lead guitarist of the all-girl hard rock band The Runaways in the late 1970s.Their punkish sound and rebellious lyrics allowed them to be noticed throughout the world of rock. The band was not able to gain a lot of attention in the United States but earned huge popularity overseas especially in Japan. Ford started a metal solo career after the band broke up in 1979. She started taking voice lessons followed by her first album "Out to Blood" which was followed by "Dancin" at the Edge. Both the albums did not get much attention and Ford was largely absent out of the scene for a few years. She returned with a bang with her hit album , 'Lita' which came out in 1988. Kiss Me Deadly was a huge hit as was the ballads Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. But her fame was only short-lived and she disappeared from the music industry for a few years. Her re-emergence was with the release of "Black" which came out in 1995 and "Wicked Wonderland" which came out almost 15 years following. Her latest album was released Time Capsule in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine awarded her the prestigious Certified Guitar Legend Award.
